Bernice M. Ruettger, 89, of Vancouver, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Ray Hickey Hospice House. She was born May 5, 1922 in Sublimity, OR to Christian and Gertrude Ruettgers.
Bernice proudly worked for Pacific Northwest Bell for her entire career, retiring December 30, 1983. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing bridge. As an adventurous traveler, Bernice journeyed to East Germany, Egypt and the Holy Lands. She was a long-time member of Telephone Pioneers of America, Catholic Daughters of America and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Bernice is survived by nieces, Patricia Moorman, Kathleen Williams, Marylee Vuylsteke, Suzanne Wilson; and nephews, Richard Moorman, Donald Ruettgers, James Ruettgers, Charles Ruettgers, Robert Ruettgers and Robert Rehorst; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass for Bernice will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mother Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Vancouver.
