ALMA MAE BURBANK CLARK
August 27, 1925 ˜ June 13, 2022
Alma Mae Burbank Clark was born to Ellsworth and Olive Burbank in Sherwood, OR, on Aug. 27, 1925.
Alma met the love of her life, William on March 19, 1943, while skating. They were married 6 months later and that love story lasted over 75 years and produced 6 children, 22 grandchildren, and 42 great-grandchildren.
She was a devoted wife and mother and worked right alongside William through every project he came up with, whether it was planting and harvesting cucumbers and strawberries, or buying and fixing up properties.
Alma taught Sunday School, was a 4-H leader, chauffeured her kids to all their events, worked for Grams Restaurant and the Vancouver School District. After retirement she faithfully volunteered at Share House for many years.
Everyone that met Alma loved her. She wasn't judgmental, never spoke a harsh word about anyone; she simply loved people. Without speaking, she made a powerful impact on all her family.
She loved sunsets, flowers, birds, camping and traveling the world. When her eyesight and hearing failed and she lost the ability to enjoy all those things, she remained pleasant and seemingly unaffected.
Alma passed away quietly in her sleep June 13. As she was an angel in life, she will now be an angel for all eternity.
Alma was preceded in death by William; her daughter, Terryl Pettis; and son, Michael Clark. Her surviving children are Jorja Carter, Sonja Vogel (Jim), Stephanie Diaz (Dimas), and Erik Clark (Meri).
The family would like to thank Lorrie Harper and family and Nancy Tester, her caregivers for several years. Also Veronica Serea at Gardenview Adult Home. They all provided so much love and care for mom when she could no longer care for herself.
Her funeral service will be Wednesday, June 22 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vancouver.
