Barbara Ann Peterson was born Jan. 22, 1955, in Vancouver, WA. At the age of 66, she passed away June 10, 2021, peacefully at home in the loving arms of her children Katie Peterson, Angie Cozzetto and Michael Peterson. Her parents were Dr. James F. Park and Lilly Park and her siblings included Doug, Joan, Judy, Lilly, Susan and Marilyn. Growing up on Buena Vista Dr. in Vancouver she attended St. Joseph Catholic School, where she was very popular and made many friendships that have remained strong throughout the years. She went to Fort Vancouver high school, Oregon State University and received her law degree at the University of Puget Sound in 1981. She fiercely enjoyed her law practice as a woman in a male dominated industry for many years before she took to another calling in her life to care for her three children. As the children grew up, Barb returned to work as a hearings officer at the Department of Licensing for another 20 years.
Barbara would be seen around town volunteering in the community, while saving wildlife and stray animals along the road, and advocating for the vulnerable. She was a loving mother, a generous grandma, and a compassionate friend. She was considered a "second-mom" to all of her children's friends and she had a knack for making anyone feel like family. She has four beautiful grandchildren Hailey, Evie, Ellie and Emerson and insisted on seeing them every day to giggle, play and build forts. Her love for God influenced every aspect of her life and she wasn't afraid to teach you a little bit about Heaven and Jesus' forgiveness. Throughout life's challenges, she persevered with her faith and the love and support of her family. She will be forever missed and her presence will be felt by the countless lives she touched.
