CARLA JANE SOWDER
March 3, 1953 ˜ January 27, 2023

Carla Jane Sowder, 69, passed away on Jan. 27, 2023, from cancer. She is survived by her husband, James; son, Nick; daughter, Laurel; mother, Marye; brothers, Craig and Clark; and sister, Colleen.

Carla was born on March 3, 1953, to Marye and Calvin Cooper in Brewster, WA. She attended Washington State University in Pullman, where she met her husband, James. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Bacteriology. She and James married May 1, 1982.

She spent her career working in Public Health as an Environmental Health Specialist.

Carla was curious by nature and spent her time appreciating the world and learning what she could from it. She lived a full life and will be greatly missed by her family and community.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 11:00 a.m. at 426 East 4th Plain Blvd., Vancouver, WA 98663.
