CHARLES T. "TERRY" THOMAS
January 3, 1938 ˜ June 18, 2022


Terry was born in New Castle, NE, to Duane and Doris (Jones) Thomas. At nine family moved to Vancouver, WA, growing up in Hazel Dell. He graduated from Vancouver H.S. in 1955, Clark College in 1957. Married from 1958-66. Had two children, Yvonne and Stanley. Worked for Boeing in Seattle, CA, SD; Alaska National Bank in Fairbanks; lastly starting First Independent Bank's Trust Dept. in Vancouver, WA, from 1966 to his retirement in 2002.

He married Hosanna "Pinky" Grinsell of Portland, OR, in 1968 and they had a daughter, Courtney. About 1983 he got his first of four hunting dogs, trained and loved hunting with them many years. Served as President of Vancouver Rotary Club 1992-93.

He absolutely lived to fish, hunt, and later golf. He was handy at making things, repairs, and figuring out a solution to any problem. He made and kept many friends over the years.

Terry is in heaven with his parents Duane and Doris Thomas, his brother-in-law Dave Gallovich, and his son-in-law Chris Cortez of Renton, WA.

Survived by his wife, Pinky Thomas of Vancouver, WA; daughters, Yvonne Thomas of Renton, WA, and Courtney Wright of Vancouver, WA; and his son, Stan (Britt Larson) Thomas of Everett, WA; granddaughter, Michelle Thomas of Carnation, WA; grandson, Darren Wright of Portland, OR; sister, Janice Gallovich, nephew, Tom (Debbie) Mulligan, and niece, Kathy (Tim Warren) Mulligan, all of Vancouver, WA; Also great nieces, Randi (Brandon Lundbom) Shierman of San Manuel, AZ, Kellie (Michael) Wolfe and her son Caden Brahm, both of Vancouver, WA.

There will be a funeral mass on Monday, July 11, at 1 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 8701 NE 119th St, Vancouver, WA 98662. Cookies/social time following. Inurnment for family about 2:30 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to our church's St. Vincent de Paul Society or to any charity of your choosing.
