CHESTER DAVID GARRETT
February 12, 1943 ˜ November 7, 2021

Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, teacher, and mentor. On Nov. 7, 2021, Chester David Garrett passed away at Portland Adventist Hospital.

Chet is survived by his wife, Jeanne; brothers, Bill (Leona) and Bob (Sheila); and sister, Vivian; his children, Chester, Jr. (Toni), Oliver, Anita, Jason Dozark (Janelle), Alyssa Dark (Brad), Ashley Swenson (Ben); 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Chester was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Althea Garrett; his sister, Cindy Quaintance; and his sons, David and Nelson.

Chet was born Feb. 12, 1943, in Millford, MA. At the age of three, the Garrett family moved to Southern California. After living in both Southern California and Massachusetts, he finally settled in the Pacific Northwest in the early 60s. Chet worked in the electrical field for 60 years. He was an electrician, electrical administrator, electrical inspector, taught thousands of electricians, and genuinely loved his work. When Chet wasn't working or teaching, he was spending time with his family and friends.

He loved his family and enjoyed laughing, joking, and teasing his kids and grandkids. Chet is best known for his sense of humor and generosity! Helping others was his passion. His smile would light up the room, and his stories kept everyone entertained.

Chet lived his life serving God and helping others in any way that he could. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and entire community.
