Obituary

Darrell Lewis Richardson was born on March 21st 1936 in Dickson Tennessee to Thelma Blanch Lewis and J.C. Bruce. He spent his elementary school years in Dickson and later in Detroit Michigan during WWII where his stepdad Charles Robert Richardson found work. He graduated from Chattanooga High School, TN. with fond memories playing on the football team. After high school he moved to Los Angeles, CA. and began his career at the age of 19 as a Mail Carrier with the U.S. Post Office. Darrell later transferred to Fresno, CA. after his marriage to Connie Castro.

On April 12th, 1990, he was awarded the Million-Mile Driver's Club for a clean driving record spanning 32 years of driving time. Darrell received his Service Award having served an honorable career of 35 years from the U.S. Postal Service on January 2nd, 1993. After his retirement he moved to Brush Prairie, WA. to be closer to his children. While in Fresno, Darrell volunteered as a youth soccer coach and was instrumental in establishing the Neighborhood Watch in his community.

Darrell was the only surviving sibling of 4 brothers. The eldest Terry Richardson, Darrell, followed by the youngest half-brothers Robin Richardson and Eric Richardson. He is survived by his 5 children Dan, David, Tina, Darrell, Lisa, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered for his love of dancing, bowling, fishing and an enthusiast video gamer. Always embodying the Southern Charm, he grew up in with everyone he met, Darrell will be missed for the respect and kindness he showed others.

Memorial service will be held at Marshall House, 1301 Officer's Row, Vancouver, WA on February 5th, 2026 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Burial will be at Fern Prairie Cemetery, Camas, WA.
