David was born Sept. 30, 1953, in Vancouver, WA, the son of Robert (Dale) and Avettia (Trudy) Holbrook. He was the fifth of ten children and born on the same day as his oldest brother Bob, five years apart. He and his siblings were raised on the family farm in the Walnut Grove-Minnehaha area.
David was a proud graduate of Hudson Bay High School and Central Washington University. David was also a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was known for his great sense of humor and was a kind, generous and hardworking man. He loved his career as a Washington State Probation and Parole Officer. David's greatest love was his family and he was fiercely protective of family. He absolutely adored his children, grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was never too busy when it came to family gatherings and for several years hosted the Annual Holbrook 4th of July family reunion at his home.
His parents, Dale and Trudy; and brothers, Bob and Tim; preceded him in death. Affectionately known as "Papa Dave" he is survived by his former wife, Barb Holbrook; children, Wendy Sturm and Corey (Kellie) Daniels; grandchildren, Katelynne Cox, Rileigh Grady, Cameron, Cole, Carson and Casey Daniels; brothers, Dennis (Linda), Mark (Maggi), Joseph (Perla) and Paul (Nancy); sisters, Debbie (Greg) Linder, Nancy (Terry) Reddish and Mary Beth (Scott) Lynn; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive David.
The memorial service will be held July 13, 2021, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
