Deagay Ann
Alt
May 25, 1943 — Feb 21, 2025
Vancouver
Deagay Ann Brennan Alt - a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, at the age of 81. She was surrounded by love and left behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and compassion.
Born on May 25, 1943, Dea was the eldest of three. Born to William and Razenna Brennan in Vancouver, WA where she resided most of her life. Dea attended parochial schools and then graduated from Providence Academy in the Nursing program and received a Registered Nursing Degree. She devoted her life to caring for others. As a nurse, she provided comfort and healing to many, and her gentle, nurturing spirit extended far beyond her profession. She moved on from nursing and ventured into various healthcare fields until retirement.
Among other things Dea loved to do was enjoying cruises and vacations with Richard such as venturing to the beach or going camping. They also thoroughly enjoyed their time at family get togethers. She also found great joy in sewing and crafting, creating handmade treasures that will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. Among other crafts she enjoyed were quilting, jewelry making, beading, oil painting, and card stamping. She would try her hand at all types of new things and was truly great at most anything she put her mind to. Gardening was also something she loved to do. Dea loved to make a welcoming calm area in the garden where she would spend hours sitting in the sun or shade and just enjoying the outdoors. Lastly, she loved to read and enjoyed map history. The last gift that Dea asked for was an atlas to look at the maps while watching the news that unfortunately she never had the pleasure of opening before her passing.
Dea was a good friend to many. She enjoyed her time with the Red Hat Sisters and all the outings and adventures they explored. She enjoyed and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than words could express. Dea was devout in her faith, and she studied the bible intently. She was very interested and willing to learn and understand more.
Dea is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Alt; her caring brother, Rick Brennan and family; her loving children, Lisa Bailey and Cindy Alt; and her adored grandchildren and their spouses, and her beloved great-grandchildren, whom she loved and adored beyond measure. Though she is no longer with us, Dea's love, warmth, and unwavering kindness will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Funeral Mass will be held on April 29, 2025, at 11:00am with a luncheon to follow.
