Dorothy Schwehr beloved mother to nine children, 92, of Milwaukie, Oregon, passed away peacefully on February 1st, leaving a void her family cannot fill.

Dorothy who went by Dottie, was born in Seaside, Oregon in 1933 and grew up in Portland, Oregon with her parents James and Lillie Wedgeworth and graduated from The Academy in Vancouver, Washington. Dottie married David Schwehr in 1952 and celebrated 72 years of wedded bliss.

Dottie was a loving mother to nine children and had the heart to take in a foster daughter as well. Her children were her pride and joy, and they felt that in the love and support she provided. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, crafting, bowling, playing games, photography and always enjoyed children.

Dottie was preceded in death by her husband David, and is survived by sons David (Shorty), Duane, Douglas, Dennis, and daughters Darlene Gubele, Debra (Debbie) Rusk, Diana Zoren, Donna Winslow, Denise DeMarre, and foster, daughter Dee Lamar, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

Funeral service is set for Thursday, March 12, 2026, at St. James Catholic Church located at: 218 W 12th Street, Vancouver, WA 98660.  Mass is at 10AM, gathering at 11AM and graveside service at 1:30PM.
