FRANCIS DUANE KANOOTH

February 27, 1928 ~ September 3, 2022

Duane Kanooth passed away peacefully on Sept. 3, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born in Chinook, MT, moved to Yacolt, WA, at the age of 8 and graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1945.

Duane is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Elaine Kanooth; along with daughters, Sherry Vallelunga, Pamela Tucker (Robert); and son, Greg Kanooth. He was grandfather to four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Nellie Bremer and Louis Kanooth; brothers, Paul Kanooth and Bob Kanooth; and son-in-law, Danny Vallelunga.

Duane was deeply loyal, a devout Catholic and an active member of his church, St. Joe's, since 1986. After 29years of service with Technaflow Industry, he retired as Superintendent. In his spare time Duane volunteered at their church and Queen of Peace Book Store.

He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, gardening, traveling with Elaine and spending time with his family. Duane was loved by all who met him and will be greatly missed.

Funeral will be held Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022. Rosary at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 400 S Andresen Road, Vancouver, WA 98661.

In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mount Angel Abbey or St. Vincent DePaul.
