FRED W. RYAN
February 18, 1935 ˜ December 26, 2022

Fred W. Ryan, 87, passed away peacefully Dec. 26, 2022, at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital. He was born to Fred W. and Barbara Ryan Feb. 18, 1935, in Vancouver, WA. While growing up Fred earned his Eagle Scout badge.

Fred graduated from Fort Vancouver High in 1953. He has been the treasurer of their reunion committee. He and his classmates have stayed close all of these years, getting together at least twice a year. And for over 23 years he hosted a Xmas luncheon with guy friends at Royal Oak's C.C.

Fred attended Washington State College for a couple of years and then enlisted in the Army where he was stationed in Okinawa.
After his tour in the Army Fred and Pamela married in 1960. They raised their children here in Vancouver.

Fred and his father were the owners of Cascade Distributing Co. After selling the business in the early 1990's Fred dabbled in Real Estate. He always talked about the girls he worked with doing all of the work!!

Fred was a member of Gyros International for over 30 years.

His main passion after retiring has been golf. A member at Royal Oak's C.C. for more than 34 years. He was on several committees. He had so many golf buddies at the club.

For the past 21 years Fred and his wife Joy lived in Ridgefield, WA. Traveling and enjoying all of the extended family.

Fred is survived by his wife, Joy; his sister, Suzanne Roberts; his son, Michael; daughter, Joy Hein; stepsons, Scott and Garold Cates; one grandson, four step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandson; and the love of Gail Pugh's children and grandchildren.

We loved him very much.To all of the Dr's and Therapists who were so compassionate and caring to Fred over the many months I want to thank them.

There will be a celebration for Fred at Royal Oak's C.C. Feb. 18th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
