Obituary

On Feb. 7, 2024, Gordon L. Campbell departed this life at the age of 86 in Vancouver, WA. Born to the late Gordon and Ena Campbell Nov. 21, 1937, in Winchester Bay, OR, he lived a life marked by steadfast work, devotion to family, and service to his country.

Gordon answered the call of duty in 1956, serving with distinction in the United States Army at Fort Ord in California. Gordon's career began in the manufacturing and construction industries, where his work ethic quickly became evident. He later founded his own construction company in the state of Washington. Gordon lent his expertise to the power company, a role that took him to California at Georgia Pacific pulp mill. Upon retirement, he channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into the lumber industry, eventually establishing a consulting business that allowed him to share his knowledge throughout the United States, including Hawaii and Latin America, forging lasting relationships with people from all over including Australia.

In his personal life, Gordon was a loving husband and a great partner to his wife, Gracie. He was a devoted father to his sons, Chris and Mark. His generous heart and willingness to help others without a second thought were hallmarks of his character. Gordon's sense of humor and unique social charm brought joy to those around him. Gordon found joy volunteering for social events at St. Mary of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Ridgefield, WA. His personal interests included coin collecting, cooking, hunting, and a deep appreciation for firearms. He was also known to enjoy a good beer on a sunny day or while watching the Super Bowl.

Gordon is survived by his beloved wife, Gracie, and son, Chris. He now joins his parents and his son, Mark, in eternal rest. A service to honor his life will be held at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on April 4, 2024. The Hamilton Mylan Funeral Home in Vancouver, WA, is providing care for the family during this time. As we bid farewell to Gordon, we are reminded of the enduring impact of a life well-lived. His legacy of love, commitment, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift/donation to St. Vincent de Paul at St. John The Evangelist Church in Vancouver, WA. Rest in peace, Gordon L. Campbell.
