James "Jim" Rudy Morton

May 26, 1962 - November 6, 2021

James Rudy Morton left this world to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday November 6th. He was surrounded by his loving family. James (Jim) was born in Missoula MT on May 26th, 1962.

Jim grew up in Helena, where he attended many grade schools. He later attended Capital High school where he participated in various sports, but his favorite was football. The 1980 Capital high football team won the state championship and was later inducted into the Helena Hall of Fame.

Jim left high school and attended St. Mary Seminary in St. Mary Kansas. Jim always held Jesus Christ very close to his heart however chose to leave the Seminary and pursue a college degree.

Jim attended Boise State University and finished his degree in Mechanical Engineering at Gonzaga University.

In 1991, Jim married the love of his life, Joan Catherine Denke. Together they had 7 children.

Jim and Joan made a trip to Montana to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary by attending Mass at the the Cathedral of St Helena, the church he grew up in. He also enjoyed time with family while back in Helena

Jim and Joan returned to Camas to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary with a beautiful celebration presented at their church and given by their friends.

Jim was diagnosed with cancer while working at ISS. Jim loved his job and the people he worked with.

Jim is preceded in death by his grandmother Dorothy O'Connell, his mother Jeri Morton, his father Wm. Morton Jr and his father-in-law Frank Denke.

Jim is survived by his adoring wife, Joan, sons Joseph, Peter( Veronica) Alex, William, daughter Katie, sons Patrick and John Paul. He is also survived by his granddaughter Maddi and grandson Liam.

Jim is also survived by his brother Daniel Morton and sister Lila Martinez and mother -in-jaw, Irene Denke. He is also survived by several brother an sister-in-laws as well as several nieces and nephews.

On Thursday Nov. 11th at 7pm:

Rosary and viewing will be at St. Thomas Aquinas in Camas (for the locals).

On Saturday Nov. 13th: 12:00pm viewing at St. Thomas Becket in Veneta (2 1/2 hour drive from Joan's home).
