Jeane Ann
Hintz-Johnson
Jul 17, 1956 — Mar 24, 2026
Dickson
Jeane Ann Hintz-Johnson, 69, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in Dickson, Tennessee, with her husband and daughter by her side.
Jeane was born on July 17, 1956, at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. She was the daughter of Richard and Jane Hintz, and the sister of Dan and David Hintz. As the daughter of a servicemember, Jeane spent much of her childhood moving across the country, living in Oklahoma, Nevada, California, Hawaii, and New Hampshire before her family eventually settled in Omaha, Nebraska. She attended the University of Nebraska, where she earned bachelor's degrees in fine arts and public administration.
On December 28, 1989, she married the love of her life, Roy Johnson, and together they built a life centered on family, kindness, and quiet strength. Throughout her career, Jeane wore many hats—working as an art teacher, a graphic designer, and later helping manage a state legislator's office in South Carolina. Above all, however, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Jeane was a loving mother who raised her children with warmth, humor, and steady patience, always ready with a listening ear and a well-timed bit of encouragement when it was needed most. When her grandchildren arrived, she embraced her role as a grandmother with deep joy, cherishing every moment spent with them. She lived her life placing the well-being of her children and grandchildren above all else.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Johnson; her children, Christopher Hintz, Erin Nelson, Adin Johnson, and Erica Johnson; and her grandchildren, Samwise Hintz, Meriadoc Hintz, Olivia ("Rori") Hintz, Jonah Johnson, Emma Johnson, Asa Nelson, and Jane Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Father David Hintz.
Jeane was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
A funeral service will be held on April 7, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vancouver, Washington. A rosary will begin at 10:15 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m., and a burial service at 12:30 p.m. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests spending time with loved ones or performing a simple act of kindness in Jeane's memory.
