On Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, John "Jack" Foley, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at age 93 with his family by his side.
Born Aug. 11, 1929, in Newark, NJ, to parents John A. and Marie Shirley, Jack attended McDonogh Military Academy in Baltimore then moved to Flint, MI. He later attended Michigan State University after which he served in the Korean War. After the war, Jack and his father purchased the Chevrolet Agency in Vancouver, WA. Jack then went on to become an investor and commercial real estate developer, constructing a number of buildings locally.
In 1954 Jack married Jaquelin Caples. Together they enjoyed golfing, winters in Palm Desert and spending time at their cabin at Wauna Lake with family and friends.
Jack was a tournament winning golfer who recorded four holes in one over the years and was on the team that won the Matson Cup tournament. He was a member of Bermuda Dunes, O'Donnell and Royal Oaks golf and country clubs.
Jack is survived by his wife, Jaquelin; sons, Michael (Pamela) and Thomas (Charlene); daughters, Julie (Mike) and Suzanne (Chris); eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be said in Jack's honor at St. James Cathedral on Nov. 8th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a memorial mass at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Shriners Hospital.
