Obituary

John Douglas Hansen, 81, of Vancouver, WA, peacefully passed away on February 13th, 2025 at his home.  Family and close friends knew him as Doug.   He was born to Claude and Elizabeth Hansen, October 11th, 1943, in Vancouver, WA.

Doug graduated Fort Vancouver High School in 1962 and proudly served in the US Navy, 1963-67, with 3 yrs overseas.  He was a combat Vietnam veteran during that time.   While in the Navy, he started his career as a pipefitter and continued with Harder Mechanical Contractors.   Doug married Linda Beylund in 1969, and they spent 41 loving years together, having 3 sons.

Doug enjoyed fishing with family and friends and working around the house in his free time.   He had an affection for dogs and was a long-term member of the Day Break Beagle Club.   Doug was devoted to his family, and a popular soccer coach for his son's teams in the Camas/Washougal community soccer league.

Doug is survived by 3 sons, John (Paulette) Hansen, Chris (Rosemary) Hansen, Ted (Kelly) Hansen; 7 grandchildren, Brittany (Devon) Mandel, Sierra Hansen, Dylan (Hannah) Hansen, Ava, Olivia, Morgan, and Isabelle; and 2 great grandchildren Lily and Willow.  He is predeceased by his wife, Linda Hansen.

There will be a memorial service to honor Doug on Friday, February 28th, 2025.   A viewing is being held at 11 AM, Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home in Vancouver, WA, with a graveside ceremony following, 1:00 PM at Mother Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Vancouver, WA.  There will be a reception for family and close friends following.
