JUAN CATOTO GREGORIO
December 27, 1935 ˜ January 22, 2022

Juan was born at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii to Faustino Gregorio and Sinforosa Catoto Gregorio. His teaching career was comprised of instrumental and choral music for middle and high school students.

For Juan, music was his life and life was music. He extended himself to friends and family for any and every event that was a cause for a celebration of life; birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, funerals, family get-togethers. He participated in band, symphony orchestras, small group ensembles and played for Broadway shows that came to town. He was versatile, playing almost any instrument but he excelled on clarinet.

In fall of 1966, he attended a year at the University of Cincinnati where he completed a Masters Degree in Education. It was where he met his wife, Barbara and they have enjoyed 54 years of married life. He passed away in the comfort of home with the loving presence of family and the support of Providence hospice nurses.

Juan was predeceased by his parents, his sisters, Natividad Bustillo, Mary Fe Cordeiro, Sarah Young; and his brother, Claude Gregorio. He is survived by his 90 year old sister, Sister Angela Gregorio of the Sacred Hearts of Honolulu. His wife, Barbara; his son, Juan Edward; and his daughter, Jodie Lynne Thompson; His son-in-law, Aaron Thompson; and five grandchildren, Elijah (and his wife, Mary), Ian, Jacoby, Laura and Leah.

On Wednesday, February 9th, at 11 a.am. A Rosary will precede the Mass at 10:00 a.m.
