Judy Arlene
Kravitz
Aug 22, 1941 — Jan 31, 2026
Vancouver
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Judy Arlean Kravitz, our beloved mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother, who passed away peacefully in Vancouver, Washington, on January 31, 2026.
Born on August 22, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Blanch and Jessie Jenson, and is survived by her sons Adam Kravitz, Aaron Kravitz, daughters-in-law Kimberli Kravitz, Maria Kravitz, and grandchildren Rina Elijdeunice, Brandon Kravitz, and Kelcie Kravitz.
She was predeceased by her three children, Flint, Steven, and Jason Kravitz.
Judy was a dedicated Head Start teacher for many years, where she created a nurturing learning environment for disadvantaged children. Her love for all children transcended to her role as "mom" to many throughout the years, opening her home to her children's friends, sports teammates, or any kid just needing a little extra love. She frequently cooked a large pot of her famous spaghetti, often for more than a dozen kids at a time, giving from her heart when there was no abundance at home, and enjoying every minute.
When her children became adults, she continued to open her home, always welcoming ROTC and military friends, who no doubt were missing their own families.
Although she dedicated her life to helping others, she took time for some of her favorite hobbies. She was a voracious reader and easily devoured two books a day. She rarely left home without her bag of books, and if needed, she would make the local used bookstore or library her first stop during any travel itinerary. In a pinch, she would just reread her favorite books – a day without a book was not an option.
Judy also found joy in nature, taking long walks on the beach with family, where she carefully selected her favorite seashells and colorful rocks as keepsakes. She was an expert gardener, where she found peace with her hands in the soil, and her green thumb was the envy of many.
Finally, as she became a grandmother, her heart became even more filled with love. Her three grandchildren will always remember how much she did everything to make them feel special and loved.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be announced (soon/at a later date) by the family.
