Kara "Kara
Jo" Diane Johnson
Dec 22, 1988 — Feb 27, 2025
Ridgefield
Kara was born in Vancouver, Clark, WA on December 22, 1988, to Craig and Diane (Stevenson) Johnson. She was joined by her little sister, Kristina Elizabeth 18 months later.
She is survived by her sister, Krissy (Jason) St. Hilaire, parents, Grandmother Doris Johnson, God-parents Joel & Sue Johnson, her special nieces, Olivia, Hailey, & Julia, favorite nephew, James, her lifelong best friend, Bryant Johnson, several uncles & aunts, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James & Dorothy (Lorent) Stevenson, and her grandfather, Rennie Johnson.
Kara grew up in Salmon Creek and attended local schools, graduating in 2006. She attended Manning School of Cosmetology and had her own salon/barber shop at home. She was a member of Salmon Creek United Methodist Church, where she attended pre-school, Sunday school, and was confirmed there. She was active in the choir, youth group, and was an acolyte.
Kara loved the outdoors, and participated in soccer, baseball, track, swim team, and showed her horses in the Thunder Hooves 4-H club. She always had animals, from fish, hamsters, rats, cats, dogs, horses and even sheep. She had a special connection with her animals, and they would follow her anywhere.
She also could drive anything with an engine. She started on snowmobiles at 2, mini hotrods at 5, 4-wheelers, tractors, dump trucks, she drove them all. She was a very creative person that loved to sing, paint, and work in the garden.
Kara touched many hearts in her life. We are going to miss her smile, her laughter, and her incredibly funny sense of humor. Rest in peace our precious daughter, till we meet again.
Kara loved roses, she enjoyed growing, propagating, and caring for them. We are planning a rose garden in Kara's memory. If you would like to contribute a rose bush, we would love to plant it in her garden. "Every good gift comes from God" James 1:17
