Obituary

KATHARINE T. MOSIER
March 21, 1932 ˜ August 4, 2021

Katharine was born March 21, 1932 in Barton, OH, to parents Rosalie Majancsik (nee Veres) and Paul Majancsik, both born in Turna nad Bodvou, Hungary. The Hungarian language was used exclusively in their household. When Father Paul died in 1947, Mother Rosalia decided to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA, to be closer to Hungarian families, thus, Katharine relocated with her and proceeded to attend and graduate from St. Rosalia High School in 1950.

While living in Pittsburgh, Katharine went to work with American Standard as a Key Punch Operator. She eventually attended a Red Cross Dance, near Hazelwood, a suburb of Pittsburgh, in the fall of 1955 and met her future USAF husband Donald B, who last year in 2020 celebrated 64 years of marriage. During Donald's Air Force career, Katharine travelled with him to Fuchu AB in Japan, Anderson AFB, Guam M.I., Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage, AK, Mountain Home AFB, ID, Laredo AFB, TX, and McChord AFB, WA. During her travels they went on to have four children, Mark P, Julie K, Donald K, and Jon G. Then, during the period from 1979 to 2001 Katharine and her husband had eight grandchildren, and then from 2012 to 2017 had two great-grandchildren. Katharine and Donald have a grand total of twelve grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Katharine's forte included gardening and baking cookies which eventually won her a blue ribbon from the Clark County Fair, in Vancouver, WA. Her baking specialty was M & M cookies. She is survived by her sister, Josephine Cheesbrough; and her niece, Melissa; nephew, Wade; husband, Donald B; her children, Mark, Julie, DJ and Jon; and her grandchildren. Her children were with her at her bedside when she passed and she will surely be missed.
