Kathleen M. Hanson of Vancouver, WA, formerly of Island City, OR passed away on August 23rd, 2025.

She was born January 26th, 1936, in Portland, OR to Fred and Mireille (Petrequin) Austin. She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1953.

Married in 1955 to Kenneth Hanson, she lived in Portland, OR, Springdale, OR, and after retiring from the Corbett School District, moved to Island City, OR in 1992. Kathy enjoyed volunteering with the Grande Ronde Hospital Auxiliary, playing Bunco, volunteering with the local Lions Club, working with "Hog Wild Days" and loved living in the beautiful Grande Ronde Valley. Exploring the back roads with Ken was a frequent adventure. Ken passed away in 2013. In late 2014 Kathy moved to Walla Walla to be closer to her Daughter, then to Vancouver, WA to live with her son Kerry's family in August 2015.

She is survived by her children Kerry (Karen) Hanson, Vancouver, WA, Steven (Rikk) Hanson, San Francisco, CA, and Patti (Rick) Tuttle, Walla Walla, WA., 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ken and her parents Fred and Mirielle. At her request no service will be held.
