Lori Therese Matras
October 10, 1942 ~June 21, 2023

Preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Lottie Matras; sister, Marianne (Joe) Barbeauld. Survived by brother, Stanley J (Kathleen) Matras; children, Kathy (Jack) Cantwell, Karyn (Chuck) Hendricks, David (Ania) Putts and Tracy Hook; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Lori will also be missed by her ex-husband, Jerry. They remained friends always.

Lori grew up in Chicago and she and Jerry raised their kids in the suburbs. As they got older, Lori went to nursing school and was the first in her family to get a degree. She loved helping and taking care of people throughout her life. A lifelong learner, her sense of wonder and curiosity kept her young at heart. Lori had a kind, compassionate, generous spirit and will be remembered for her positivity and beautiful smile.

Lori enjoyed being active, so rather than "resting in peace," we like to think she's soaring free through the heavens with the eagles. If you care to honor her with a donation, we suggest The American Eagle Foundation.
