Obituary

It is with heavy heart to announce the passing of Mary E Parsons of stage 4 kidney cancer at the young age of 70. She was blessed to have a big family growing up in Vancouver. Her parents were Charles and Mildred (Moore) Parsons, who sadly died at the young age of 35 from cancer. Her father later remarried a widower, Mary Rita (Binau) Parsons. At which the family grew to a total of 9 siblings (Kathryn, Edward, Teresa, John, Jim, Patty, Carolyn, Charlie, and Paul). She valued the importance of family. She had the biggest heart for not only her siblings, but also her many nieces and nephews.

She lived a very active life, becoming one of the first female barbers in Washington. She worked as a clerk at the Union Pacific railroad, later started her police career as an officer with Washington County, and eventually becoming one of the first female detectives at the Vancouver Police department. Finally ending her working career as a code enforcer with the City of Woodland. Upon her departure from working for the City, she was awarded a key to the city from the mayor.

Outside of her working career she was married to Robert Lenzer for seven years and adopted a daughter from Hangzhou, China named Patricia "Elizabeth" Lenzer. Mary will be deeply missed by all of her loved ones. Her service will be on Jan. 10, 2025 @ 10:30 a.m. at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Vancouver, WA. In lieu of flowers please make donations in the name of Mary to the American Cancer Society.
