Michael Anderson Phillips, 82 of Vancouver, Washington passed away on March 23rd, 2024 at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in the emergency room from complications due to old age.

He was born August 3rd, 1941, in Spanish Fork, Utah

He was the second child to Parents Sarah Edna Phillips and Robert Lemoine Phillips. He had an older brother Robert (deceased 2016), younger brother David, and younger sister Annalee.

Michael grew up in Logan Utah. He was an athlete and excelled at Track and Field, in particular the High Jump and Pole Vault.

Married Kathleen Taylor (deceased 1994) on September 3rd, 1966. They met at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. They moved to Pasadena, California in their early marriage. They moved back to Utah to raise children. They had 3 children in Utah (Glen 52, Joanna 48, Woody 46) then another child in California (Katey 35) when they moved back to Southern California in 1987. They enjoyed their kids' sports games and Track Meets.

Michael received his Bachelor's Degree from Utah State University with a major in Psychology and a minor Physics. (1963)

Michael would work as a Jr High Math teacher. He made a career of computer programming for 30 years. He was an expert in computers of the Main Frame age. Working for such places as Northrup, General Dynamics, Levi Strauss, American Express, and Foster Farms.

Michael loved cross country skiing and downhill skiing. He loved Tennis and Racquetball. He enjoyed camping and fishing. Michael loved to coach his kids in his element with Track and Field and out of his element with Soccer. Michael had a dry wit. He was hilarious and clever. He was also a Trivia wizard. He was an avid music fan especially Bob Dylan and Jackson Browne.

Michael was a life-long Democrat. He grew up in the LDS church.

He is survived by:

Children: Glen 52, Joanna 48, Woody 46 (spouse Emily), and Katey 35 (spouse Tyler)

Grandchildren: Luna 22, Max 20, Annabella 18, Django 16, Charlie 1

Siblings: David 80, Annalee 78

Predeceased by wife Kathleen T. Phillips (1994), brother Robert Phillips (2016).
