Patricia Ann Budde was born on December 12, 1935, in Oakland, California, to Elmer and Willie (Brewer) Bartel. At six years old, her family settled in Ridgefield, Washington—a community that became her lifelong home.

Patricia graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1954. She began her working life in the berry fields as a field boss and later worked at the Ridgefield Cannery, Del Monte, Hewlett Packard, and Tektronix. She and her family also kept a small farm in Ridgefield. She bowled for many years and enjoyed the friendships and fun that came with it.

Patricia played an instrumental role in raising her grandchildren. She was always there steadfast, dependable, and ready to help whenever her children or grandchildren needed anything. Her home was a gathering place for family, friends, and countless parties, filled with connection and activity. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Brian Budde, her sisters Joyce Cooper and Judy Bartel; and her grandson Jesse Jungel.

She is survived by her brother Michael Bartel (Judy) of Grand Forks, BC; her children Ken Budde of Vancouver, WA; Kathleen Melo of Vancouver, WA; Kimberly Holtz (Roland) of Ridgefield, WA; and Kevin Budde (Robin) of Portland, OR. She leaves behind eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom carry memories of her generosity and presence.
