Phillip
Krumm
Jan 11, 1936 — Jan 4, 2025
Ridgefield
Phillip Thomas Krumm, born January 11, 1936, was a truly incredible human being. Phillip died peacefully on January 4, 2025, one week shy of his 89th birthday. He was wrapped in love and tenderness by family and friends throughout the journey of his last weeks to be with the love of his life again, his wife, Pam Krumm.
Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Phillip knew that he was a good man… one of the best, in fact. He was a man for others. He acted with integrity. He was the hardest of workers. He would never forget your name. Dad lived his life as a devout Catholic. His last meal was the Eucharist.
Dad's passions were his family and his faith, first and foremost. He was the keeper of his family's storied history. He loved running (a lot!), cars, collecting guns, and happy times with people he loved. Phillip treasured his meaningful tenure with Poorman-Douglas Corporation and the indelible friendships he made through that work. And when retirement was not all it was cracked up to be, he realized a new purpose through his work at Platt Electric. Phillip made life-long friends. He had an easy smile and an open door for everyone. If you ever needed a tool, or a rag, he had one at the ready.
Phillip was born to August and Florine (Klein) Krumm of Lenexa, Kansas. If his stories are true, and we know they are, the Krumm's ran that little town back then. He was husband for 44 never-dull years to his feisty and redoubtable wife, Pam, who preceded him in death on July 21, 2024. He is brother to Joseph (deceased), Suzanne (Frank), John (Sandy), Jerry (deceased), and Michael (deceased). He is father to Tracy, Jennifer, and Molly (Charlie) with Pam. And to Thomas (Diane), Jeanne (Phil), Janet (Billy), Joan, Julie, and August (Monica) from his first marriage to Joanie. Pa or Papa, as he was called, was a deeply loved grandfather to 22 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, 1 grand blessing, 1 great-grand blessing, and 1 great-great grand blessing who brought profound joy to his days.
We will miss our sweet Dad dearly but we know he is holding Pam's hand and sharing his quick wit and 'Pa-isms' with all of his family and friends who have been waiting to see him again. No doubt, he is wiping down Heaven's kitchen floor with the ever-present rag pulled from his left shoulder as we speak.
Thank you, Dad, for showing us the meaning of "do well whatever you do." May we honor Phillip with our good works and may his memory be a blessing to all who were lucky enough to know and learn from him.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at St. Mary of Guadalupe Mission in Ridgefield, WA. A reception will be held after Mass. Details are still in the works. Please RSVP to Molly at krummbalaya@outlook.com. Call Molly with questions or confirmation at 503-804-9513.
Peace! Love! Justice! Harmony! Family!
