Richard, 87, passed away March 25th, 2026, in his daughter's home, under the care of hospice, in Vancouver, Washington.

He was born in Buffalo, New York. His parents, Delbert & Francis Baty moved the family to Vancouver in 1951.

Richard served in the Marine Corps from 1957 to 1961.

Over the years, he was an assistant manager and manager of a credit union, a business owner and worked multiple jobs in the manufacturing industry.

He is survived by his daughter, Deana Anderson, her four children (Jordan Obermiller, Christian Anderson, Sophia Barnes and Miabella Barnes) and five great grandchildren (JJ, Braxton, Hudson, Jackson & Wyatt Obermiller), along with his sister Camille Martindale. He was predeceased by Judy, his wife of 62 years, and his brother Delbert Baty.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for many years.

Some of the things he enjoyed most were reading, working in his yard and being outside. In his younger years, he enjoyed painting and drawing.
