Rosanna Petersen August 12, 1937 ~ April 8, 2023 Rosanna Petersen, age 85 of Vancouver, WA passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, April 8th 2023 while watching her beloved Seattle Mariners during the bottom of the ninth inning while sitting in her favorite recliner.

Rosanna was born August 12th, 1937 in Elma, Iowa to her parents Albert and Rosa Brummond. She was the youngest of her five siblings, Otto, Erwin, Lois, and Norbert. She was married to James Petersen for almost 27 years. They had one child, Michael Petersen of Vancouver, WA. Aside from growing up on a farm in Elma, Iowa, she also lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota, moving to Escondido, California in 1982, and then to Vancouver, Washington in 1992 which she called home for the past 31 years. She was an avid gardener for many years, and faithfully loyal to watching the Seattle Mariners nearly every game.

Rosanna was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Vancouver where she was involved in many activities. More recently she was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church of Vancouver and was dearly loved in both churches. Rosanna is survived by her son Michael Petersen and his wife Alma, along with their children Dylan Petersen, Micayla Petersen, Sarah Brown and her husband Bradley Brown, and Ellie Petersen. Rosanna is also survived by her husband James children Chris Johnson, Robert Petersen, Faye Teske, James Petersen Jr, and Nancy Wynn along with their spouses and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was loved and appreciated by many and will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family.

There will be a service for her in Vancouver at Memorial Lutheran Church on Monday, April 17th at 2 pm. And then she will return to Minnesota to be buried alongside her husband at Ft Snelling National Cemetery on Friday April 21st. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to Memorial Lutheran Church of Vancouver in her honor.
