Shirley Ann Cockram

April 25, 1936 ~ April 3, 2023

Shirley Ann Cockram passed away at home on April 3, 2023. She was born in Redmond, Oregon, in 1936 and is survived by her daughters Ann Giles (Rick) and Linda Sandberg (Jeff) two grandchildren, Emily and Kevin Sandberg and many other beloved family members and friends. Her parents, Freeman Cockram her husband, two sisters and a brother preceded her death. She grew up in Metolius, Oregon on the family farm and graduated from Madras H.S. She graduated from Oregon State College with a degree in Home Economics. She met and married Freeman at OSC and went on to teach in the various places they lived, finishing her career in Vancouver, WA. She retired in 1996. The couple volunteered at their church and enjoyed traveling, skiing, biking and spending time in Sunriver, OR. Shirley loved skiing and continued skiing for years after Freeman's death. She was a dedicated member of Messiah Lutheran Church, where she attended for many years. A celebration of life will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church in Vancouver, WA, on April 22 at 2 pm.
