VIRGINIA H. BARBER
March 22, 1932 ˜ June 8, 2022

Virginia H. Barber, 90, of Vancouver, WA, went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 8, 2022. A descendant of Washington pioneers and missionaries, Mary and Elkanah Walker, she was born on March 22, 1932, in Seattle, WA, to Clarence (Jack) Jackman and Helen Karr Jackman.

She went to Franklin High in Seattle and spoke of her friends and experiences there often. While attending University of Washington she meet and married William (Bill) Barber. They started 66 year Christian life together full of travel, camping and hiking. She received a Art Degree at San Diego State and became an accomplish teacher, jeweler and artist. Later in life her gift in art lead her to learn Iconography. Virginia and Bill were devout Catholics both members of Lady of Lourdes parish in Vancouver for the past 30 years. Virginia was also a Lay Carmelites to further her devotion to Jesus.

Virginia is survived by her brother, Venerable Ajahn Sumedaho; son, William Barber (Khristine); daughter, Merrie Virgina; son, Robert Jackman; daughter-in-law, Sara Jackman; grandchildren, Shasta Nash, Katie Barber (Robert McDonnell), Zeb Barber, Marion Jackman and Dennis Jackman; and great-grandchildren, Hub and Maggie McDonnell, and Harlo Nash.

Services will be held at Lady of Lourdes in Vancouver Washington on June 18, 2022, at 11 a.m., Rosary at 10 a.m. Luncheon to follow. Service will be live streamed at https://youtu.be/5WuEfhapq1Q
