Walter Nicholas Smit was born on July 31st, 1935, in Baker City, Oregon and lived a long full life of 89 years. On January 21st, 2025, the lord called him home to spend eternity with the love of his life and wife of 65 years. He passed away peacefully in his home in Vancouver, Washington. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Sheila McCormick, Katherine Dillon, Cornelia Simpson, 7 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. He enjoyed beer, making, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He served his country with the Air Force for 22 and was a long-haul trucker for 25 years. He gave Decades of volunteer time to his community. He will be deeply missed by all.
